To my handsome Andrew,

Hi from Nana,
Andrew, it was such a special day...the day you were born. We wondered when it would be but you surprised us and came early. Does that make you laugh? Your mom called me very early in the morning and we decided February 23rd was to be the day. I jumped on a plane to head your way. Would I make it in time? Your Aunt Anita came and picked me up and we rushed to the hospital. It wasn't too long till you came. What a delight!!!! You had hair and every single toe and finger that you needed and even two thumbs. Just perfect.

Don't tell anyone but you came on your Great-Uncle Wade Sommerfeldt's birthday...quite a birthday present for him. So much joy and love fresh from heaven.

Welcome to the earth, dear brave handsome Andrew!!!!!

Going on a walk with Mom

Hi Sweet Little one:

I still don't know your name but I love you all the same. . . even more than you can imagine. I hope you feel my love.

In June you and your family got to come again. Uncle Tim was to arrive home off his mission to Chihuahua Mexico and everyone was coming home. It was such a happy time!!! Everyone got to meet your new cousin, Julia Jetti Jones too! Yes, she came! 3 weeks early! I didn't get there in time for her birth but I was there to hold her on her very first hour of life . . . and every day and night for quite a few more. She has light reddish brown hair just like her mother - who is your Aunt Charlyn. I'm sure you will have great fun together. . . It's great to have cousins.

So much happened that first week. We had a baby shower for Julia, some of your uncles went to Aaronic Priesthood Camp, we got a few loads of wood for Grandpa, and we had a family temple day which ended with a fun swim at the John's hot pool. Then the next day even more people arrived for a family party or two. We had a hot dog roast Atwood style on Saturday night and fed about 38...39 if we count you. Then Sunday, Julia was blessed in Church. It was amazing. Even Uncle Pat stood up with Uncle Reed's help. We had another big family party since everyone was hungry.

Guess what? You and your Mom and Andrew and Lilly got to stay with us five extra days. You see, your mom is my daughter...I carried her in my tummy just like your mom is carrying you now...and I love her very much. I miss her too. All of you. Your Dad had to fly home to go back to work so since it was a beautiful morning, we decided to take a walk up Nana and Gramp's hill. When your mom was living at home, we used to do it quite often. I thought you might like to see Mom and Lilly and YOU! Amazing! There you are. We can't see you much now but your mom feels you kick and move. We can't wait till you come. Another day we'll take another walk up that hill and you will come with us again.
